Rena Lu – Researcher

Rena is a rising junior in high school. She’s involved in activities like Mock Trial and Academic Decathlon and hopes to eventually go to law school. There’s a lot of things she hopes to do through this project, but above all she hopes someone takes something away from Queen Bee and pursues their goals irregardless of the obstacles that might lay in their path.
Aylin SXF – Researcher

Aylin’s an incoming UC Davis freshmen at the college of agricultural and environmental sciences. She’s passionate about motivating women towards their goals. Additionally, she’s a major advocate for environmental justice. During her time at Queen Bee Project, she wants to bring awareness to the oppression that women face in society and hopes that individuals will reach for their goals, regardless of the challenges that may occur.

Gabbie is a 15-year-old high school student and political activist from New Mexico. Serving as the youngest vice president to ever lead her local young Democrats chapter, executive director of Generation Ratify’s NM coalition, ACLU National Advocacy Institute student, American Battlefield Trust Youth Leadership Team member, and volunteer to both in and out of state political campaigns including NM-3 congressional candidate Teresa Leger Fernandez, Gabbie is incredibly passionate about increasing political engagement and education at the state & national levels. As a staff writer for the Queen Bee Project, she works to identify the intersections between academia, feminism, and of course, politics in writing for the organization.

Sydnee is a rising senior from Folsom, CA. Her experience studying abroad in Japan solidified her goals to pursue a career in foreign service and international relations post graduation. Having participated in academic competitions like mock trial, she hopes that the Queen Bee Project is able to leave students feeling inspired and empowered not only in academic settings but also their daily lives. She is especially excited to share the stories of the incredible female leaders around Sacramento.
